Marie Osmond’s Plastic Surgery… what went wrong?!?!

Marie Osmond plastic surgery, marie osmond rhinoplasty, marie osmond fillers, juvederm, botox, blepharoplasty

There’s no doubt about it… Marie Osmond definitely had some work done!

I know what you’re saying… “OMG! She looks like a cross between Michael Jackson and Joan Rivers!” And guess what, I agree!

  1. RHINOPLASTY: The very first thing I notice when I look at Marie is her nose! It’s eerily reminiscent of Michael Jackson’s in how small and pinched it looks. In my opinion, this rhinoplasty is a dead give away for a nosejob. Creating a subtle, natural change should always be the goal of rhinoplasty surgery so that the nose never looks out of place on someone’s face… like it does on Marie.
  2. LIP ENHANCEMENT: Marie’s over-filled and odd-shaped lips are the second thing that my eyes are drawn too. I’m hoping that she has a temporary product like Juvederm or Restylane in her lips so that it will dissolve quickly (4-6 months). Her bottom lip is far too large and puffy, and her top lip has a very unnatural shape to it. The goal of lip enhancement should not be larger lips. The goals should be to increase the amount of vermillion (the pink part of the lip) that is visible, to accentuate the cupid’s bow, to create the perfect ratio between the upper and lower lips, and to smooth out any wrinkles on the surface of the lip. When done correctly, lip enhancement can be incredibly natural and quite beautiful!
  3. FILLER INJECTIONS: Marie is starting to look a little putty face… kinda like Jocelyn Wildenstein and Mickey Rourke. Again, I hope she has a temporary product like Juvederm in her cheeks and smile lines so at least it will go away soon. Cheekbone enhancement is definitely one of my favorite procedures because it can produce such a wonderful change for women of just about any age… as long as it’s done carefully and correctly. I also love cheekbone enhancement because this is one area of the face where it’s usually possible to use a longer lasting filler such as Radiesse or Sculptra, which can last up to 2 years!
  4. EYE SURGERY: We’re all familiar with the sexy cat-eye look, but this is a little overboard! Marie probably had a blepharoplasty procedure (eyelid surgery) and a lateral canthopexy (surgery to lift the corner of the eye), both of which look overdone. As we age, the corners of our eyes naturally descend, and a lateral canthopexy can be a great way to rejuvenate the eyes as long as the surgeon is careful not to overtighten.
  5. BOTOX: It’s difficult to say for sure whether or not Marie has Botox in her After photo because of her hairstyle, but I would bet the ranch that she does! Out of all the work she had done, her Botox is the only procedure that gets a reasonable grade in my book.

The best plastic surgery doesn’t look like plastic surgery. When someone just looks better, but you don’t know exactly why, that’s the mark of quality procedures, and a quality plastic surgeon.

When it comes to the face, there are quite a few non-surgical options available for those of us who don’t want to go under the knife. Jill Zarin was recently in People magazine promoting her “knife-free facelift”, and I’m sure everyone wants to know what she had done if she didn’t have surgery?

Lisa’s Lumpy Lips! Why long-lasting fillers aren’t the best option for lip augmentation…

Last year, we told you about Lisa Rinna’s corrective lip surgery that she needed to fix the lumpy oversized lips she got from silicone injections. As you can see, her lips look dramatically better than they did when they were overflowing with silicone, but that doesn’t mean Lisa is out of the woods in terms of developing further problems. She was most likely attracted to the idea of using silicone to augment her lips because silicone is a permanent filler… that’s right… permanent!

While it’s understandable that having to do something like lip injections a single time sounds like a good idea, permanent fillers like silicone, or long-lasting fillers like Radiesse and Artefill, are not always the best option when it comes to facial rejuvenation, especially in mobile parts of the face like the areas around the mouth and eyes.

The circular muscles around our eyes and mouth (the obicularis oculi and the obicularis oris) contract thousands of times every day as we talk, chew, kiss and tell. These repetitive contractions massage fillers into small balls over time, so the longer the filler last, or the more that is used, the more likely it will be that it forms a ball (lump). With a permanent filler like silicone, you can almost guarantee that you will get a lump (or two, or three) at some point, and the same is true for temporary, but long-lasting, fillers like Radiesse and Artefill.

So, while it seems like a good idea to get a filler that lasts a long time, you have to think about the downsides of a filler that will stick around long enough to be massaged into lumps by your facial muscles. HA fillers like Juvederm and Restylane don’t last as long as the others, but that they are much less likely to form lumps, and even if they do, they will go away relatively quickly. HA fillers typically last 4-6 months, and they are much softer in their composition which means that they look and feel much more natural. You do have to have the procedure repeated twice a year to maintain the results, but this sure beats having permanent lumpy overfilled lips, and the painful extended recovery of corrective lip reduction surgery!

Here are a few of our Before & After Lip Augmentation results with Juvederm. Very natural, and very beautiful…

No More Lumpy Lips for Lisa! According to HuffPo and People Mag, Lisa Rinna recently came clean about getting silicone injected into her lips on a whim back in the 80’s while jaunting around town with a friend. She admits that at the time she didn’t think any more of it than getting a tattoo, but now 25 years later she found herself going under the knife for “corrective surgery”. The prob … Read More

The 5 Surgeries that kept Daisy Fuentes looking so young!

Daisy Fuentes, beauty, celebrities, entertainment, facelift, botox

models

Former MTV VJ turned model, Daisy Fuentes, looked gorgeous at a recent event in Miami, but here’s the kicker… she looks just as good as she did 16 years ago!

Great genes?  Or great plastic surgeons?

We think it’s a combination of both… genetics and cosmetic surgery. Nothing, including plastic surgery, works better than good genes to keep you young, and the combination of both is the best of all!

The 5 Procedures That Kept Daisy Looking Beautiful

1.  Facelift ($25,000)

Daisy’s neck and jawline are just as defined at 43 as they were when she was 27, and her face is still full in all the right places! The only way this is possible after 16 years of battling Father Time, is with a little help from her friendly neighborhood plastic surgeon.  Her facelift looks exactly how it should… nothing is pulled too tight, and she really looks like a refreshed version of herself rather than like a different person. Kudos to her surgeon for a job very well done.

2.  Blepharoplasty ($4,000)

As we age, the outside corners of our eyes tend to drift downwards (along with everything else!). You can see very clearly that Daisy’s eye still have that youthful appearance where the outer corners haven’t dropped at all. If anything, they are actually a little higher! Unfortunately, nature never makes anything go up, so we’re pretty confident that Daisy has had her eyes done 🙂

3.  Brow Lift ($4,000)

Daisy’s brows are perfect for her face, and their shape makes her look energetic, young, and inviting. The dead giveaway to a brow lift procedure is the fact that her outer brows are just a bit higher in her “after” picture, and once again, since Mother Nature and Father Time are never kind enough to make things go up, she must have had some help on this one too.

4.  Rhinoplasty ($8,000)

Daisy’s nose is slightly more narrow at the tip, which leads us to believe that she has had a tip rhinoplasty (nosejob) at some point.  While this isn’t a major contributor to her youthful look, the subtle improvement definitely adds to her overall beauty.

5.  Botox and Filler Injections ($1,200)

Even at 43 years young, there’s not a single line on Daisy’s forehead or around her mouth! A little Botox in the brow and around the corners of the eyes, and a little Juvederm in the “parentheses” around her lips, must have done the trick.

So, is $42,200 worth it to stay young?  We think so… she looks fantastic!

What do you think?
